Referrals:
The Chamber responds to thousands of requests each year for recommendations on goods or services to be purchased in Howard County. Many individuals call the Chamber just to see if the business they are considering doing business with is a Chamber member. They feel that if they are a Chamber member then they are a "reputable" company worthy of their business. Only Chamber members are referred to these newcomers, visitors and area residents and a post card is sent to that Chamber member referred. We also direct callers to our website where they can search for a specific category and then visit that business's website through the free link provided in our Business Directory.
Grand Openings/Ribbon Cuttings:
The Chamber staff and Chamber Ambassadors (known as the "red coats) will assist with special events. We will bring the golden scissors and ribbon to assist with a ceremony to celebrate your opening, ground breaking or other special occasion.
Direct Mail Tools:
Don't miss the chance to contact other Chamber members. Chamber membership Mailing Labels are available at a reduced cost to members. If you are sending a special holiday promotion or just advertising your goods and services, Chamber Mailing Labels can save you hours of time! If you are doing a bulk mailing, we can also sort the labels by zip code for you.
The Chamber also offers a Broadcast Fax service for a small fee.
Professional Publications:
Stay "on top of things" in the Chamber, in the business community and the state by reading the Business Link. The Business Link is published monthly electronically on our website as well as printed quarterly.
Notary Public Service:
The Chamber provides a Notary Public service at no charge to Chamber of Commerce members.
SCORE:
Service Corp Of Retired Executives
The Kokomo SCORE chapter is an integral part of the national SCORE organization. SCORE is a non-profit association dedicated to entrepreneurial education and the formation, growth, and success of the nation's small business sector. SCORE volunteers serve as "Counselors to America's Small Business".
Our SCORE Chapter provides free and confidential business counseling tailored to meet the needs and objectives of your small business before or after start-up. Workshops for both start-up entrepreneurs and small business owners can be offered, for a modest fee.
SCORE volunteers are professionals with time-tested knowledge who donate time to help small businesses succeed. Our SCORE counselors have real-world experience in such areas as accounting, finance, marketing, management, engineering and technology, and business start-up and business plan preparation.
The Kokomo SCORE Chapter is comprised of ten volunteers who provide guidance and counseling to entrepreneurs in a five-county area in north central Indiana. Contact Kokomo SCORE at counselors543@kokomoscore.org.
